Battle of The Bulges in Malmedy

The Camel Corps embarked on another dangerous mission on foreign soil and had a number of successes not least at the Battle of The Bulges in Malmedy. I can report that there were some allegations of disgraceful behaviour that will, I’m sure, be the subject of a court martial disciplinary hearing at some stage in the future. In the interests of justice and to ensure a fair trial I am not able to specifically name individuals involved but I will share some of the details of the allegations with you now.

There are reports that a fines master was seen to be drinking tea to excess which resulted in violent chundering in an ornamental hedge. (I understand there is photographic evidence in support of this allegation) Allegations of bullying by senior ranks against a Jesus Christ impersonator who was dressed in a shroud of insulating tape. Allegations that a battleship salesman was forced to drink excessive volumes of alcohol whilst suffering palpitations and appearing at the time to be in urgent need of medical attention, although this allegation has since been dropped on account of the fact that his appearance hasn’t changed for a number of years and he still looks like he needs medical attention! And finally, an inexperienced soldier who had managed to successfully infiltrate the Malmedy Women’s Institute but still managed to fail to penetrate any of them.

Additionally, the Midget Submarine Corps completed their mountaineering expedition to Holland, taking a prisoner of the tour all the way from Oakley. Initial reports suggest that the two gay sailors seen in the vicinity were set free by the Corps but the cleaning lady who was accosted at dawn by the prisoner in the bar area dressed only in his underpants has been signed off work for a number of months and is receiving counselling for post traumatic stress.

I think it is fairly unique for a club like ours to arrange tours for all its members both young and old and it is a credit to the people who organise and support the tours.

Thank you to all the tourists for being excellent club ambassadors and to the tour organisers for all the hard work you’ve put in to make them happen.
