As part of our on going plans to revamp the club's social media presence and provide more information to our players and supporters, a group of enthused designers and web specialists have come together with the common aim of redesigning the club's website!

No longer will you have too look at information which is 4 years out of date and view pictures of yester year!

As part of this activity the current website will be taken down this weekend while some infrastructure updates are made in preparation for the revamp. We apologise for any inconvenience this may cause, however please be assured this will all be worthwhile!

Information on the progress of this endeavour will be shared via our social media platforms (Overton Rugby Football Club on Facebook and overtonrugby on Instagram, give us a like/follow if you haven't already 😁) so please watch this space

Following a much needed weekend off to recuperate and rest tired bones, the #bustards are in action again this Saturday.

#orfc host Stoneham RFC at #oddballane in what will no doubt be an entertaining encounter. Stoneham are having a great start to the season winning 4 from 5 and sitting in a respectable 4th in the league. The #inglorious are currently sitting 9th, however this does not reflect the effort that the boys have put in. In fact their position should be higher up the table but unfortunately they have just not had the rub of the green with some decisions.

However the team #neverlookback and always look to the next 80 minutes of action. Stoneham will have to bring their A game to #oddballlane this week as no doubt @bond3979 and his #bandofbrothers will be fired up and looking to entertain the home spectators.

Overton 1st XV game against Winchester II has been called off as Winchester were unable to get a team together. While disappointing for the 1st XV, #oddballlane will no doubt be brimming with support and getting behind the 2's as #oneclub

Kick off is 3pm and the bar will be open to serve a range of alcoholic and non alcoholic beverages, so please come up and support the team on what is most definitely the #bestdayoftheweek

Winchester Knights Vs Overton II

The #inglorious this week travel down the M3 to visit Winchester.

Overton last played the Knights in the last game of the 2017/18 season. In what was one of the tougher games of the season, Overton were able to narrowly win following a second half performance where all 18 players stepped up.

Winchester have a tendency to field strong sides made up of experienced Vets supplemented by youngsters. The #inglorious on the other hand are well known in this league for being able to tailor their playing style to any combination that is thrown at them. Following last weekend's dubious loss to Chineham (polite summary I received of the result) Overton will be fired up and looking to take the game to the knights in search of that elusive Away win.

This game is always one of those that any rugby fan would love to watch, close calls, passion, some excellent skill and great gamemanship from both teams... what more could you want from a Saturday afternoon!

Game will be kicking off at 3pm this weekend and all travelling support will be welcomed by the players.

Andover II Vs Overton 1's

Great rivalries exist in this beautiful game of ours... Bath and Leicester, New Zealand and Australia, England and Everyone.... but for our small little village side nothing comes close to Andover Vs Overton

It's been a few years since our First team had a chance to play Andover, however following the league shake up this was one of the games that life long Overton fans are looking forward to.

Andover are currently sitting 4th from bottom with 1 win out of 4 while Overton sit 4th following the great victory last Saturday against Locksheath Pumas. However as anyone will tell you, past form counts for nothing in games like these where the passion to hit every tackle, complete every pass and make those extra metres are what separates the sides at the final whistle.

Overton field a relatively unchanged squad from last weekend. A debut is handed to Joe Prodger on the wing who replaces Alex Seabrook who will be enjoying his honeymoon this week.

The game is away this weekend so any and all travelling support would be welcomed by the boys as they look to stick to winning ways.

KO 3pm with players to meet by 1:30pm. As usual shirt and club ties will be required for after the game

Overton Rugby Football Club

47 - 10….. 47 - 10….. These are the numbers that will be floating through players from Overton’s 1st XV in the lead up to this weeks game at #oddballlane…..

That was the score from the last time Overton hosted Locksheath at the start of the season in this years Hampshire Plate, a defeat at home that wasn't expected following a great start to the season.

Similar to last weekends game, this game see’s both teams in similar league positions in 5th and 6th with Overton higher up following 2 Bonus Points wins. However Locksheath have found success on the road this Season, but Overton know that in this league Home victories are what secures the team in the league and will be pushing to avenge the defeat felt in September.

Overton this week will be missing some experienced players in Sam Clarke (ankle), Tristan Harper (holiday in season... FINE!!) And captain Elliott Buttle (shoulder). Dan Sumpter is set to take over the reigns as Captain this weekend with a new centre Partnership of Nat Wood and Jack Hankins sitting outside Fly Half Marcus Blunden. Tom Jolly moves from 2nd row to Flanker and Jacob Stroner returns to the 1st XV at winger in the only changes to the team.

Game kicks off at 3pm this Saturday with the Bar open from 1:30pm. All support will be welcome as Overton look to #bringhomethepoints and enjoy #winnersbeers on what is sure to be the #bestdayoftheweek

Following on from last weekend’s emphatic win against Basingstoke 2nd XV, the #inglorious Overton 2's will be taking a short trip down the B3400 to face Basingstoke based Chineham RFC.

Chineham visited Overton during the clubs pre season friendly run up to the start of the season. This game was hotly contested with a number of 2nd team players joining their brothers in the 1st XV in what was a close encounter which Overton only just edged.

Chineham currently sit third in the Hampshire 2 following wins against Aldershot and Fleet and Winchester Knights. With a 100% home record behind them, Chineham may be seen on paper as being the favourites in this encounter. However, and as last week showed, Overton are a force to be reckoned with against any team in this league and @bond3979 will be looking for his team to demonstrate the skill and strength shown to date.

Match is kicking off at 3pm at Mays Bounty in Basingstoke. Any support will be greatly received!
